The instructions below will cover the removal and replacement of GM Tow Mirror Marker Lights on 2019+ Chevy and GMC tow mirrors. This install will take 20 minutes per side and only requires basic hand tools.

These are drop in replacement marker lights for the 2019+ new style GM tow mirrors offered with either clear lens or smoked lens, bright amber or white LED’s, optional forward facing spotlights, and optional scanning sequential function. These are plug and play for OEM towing mirrors as long as the lights were properly working prior to installation.

Safety glasses must be worn at all times while performing this procedure!

Remove the upper and lower glass by reaching behind and pulling them away from the mirror. Unplug all connections from the back of your upper and lower glass.

If you do not already have these upgrade kits installed, this would be a good time to do so, as you will be already removing the upper and lower glass. Purchase our upgrade kits here.

Remove the four T15 screws that hold the shroud in place.

Remove the shroud and the lower cap. Unplug the rear facing cargo light (if equipped).

Extend the mirror out half-way. The mirror will slide forward slightly when extended.

Use a T15 bit to remove the four screws retaining the motor. If needed, tilt the motor towards the screw to gain better access to each screws as shown below.

Remove the three additional T15 screws.

Unplug and remove the marker light from the mirror.

Slide in the new marker light provided by Boost Auto Parts. Then, plug in the marker light.

Telescope the mirror all the way in.

Reinstall the three T15 screws, make sure the upper 2 screws line up with the replacement Boost Auto Parts light.

Line up the screw holes and reinstall the four T15 screws that hold the power adjust motor into place.

Line up the lower cap with the mirror, then plug the connector for the cargo light back into light on the shroud (if equipped).

While holding onto the lower cap, line up the front shroud. If equipped, route any blind spot or auto dim wires through the hole in the top corner of the shroud. Defrost wires should be routed through the opening on the side of the shroud.

Reinstall the four T15 screws on the shroud.

Before installing the upper glass, be sure to plug in the wires for the blind spot monitoring, auto dim, defrost, and signal, if your mirror is equipped with those features.

Be sure to tuck away any wires, then align the stabilization pins and use your hand to snap the upper glass into place.

If you have the Boost Auto Parts heated lower glass kit, plug in the defrost wires on the lower glass. Then, use the palm of your hand to snap in the lower glass.
